Getting started
From first chat to first lesson in about three weeks
Four steps, with our team doing most of the work. Here's what happens and what we'll need from you.
- 1
Choose a programme
Tell us which pupils you'd like to support, in which subjects, and when. We'll suggest the right programme and send you a price.
- Steady (weekly for a term), Exam boost, Holiday intensive or Tailored
- How many pupils, which subjects and levels
- In school hours, after school or in the holidays
- 2
Meet your contact
You'll have one named person at AfriTutor who sets everything up with you and checks in during the programme.
- A short onboarding call with your lead teacher or SENCO
- We agree how we'll share safeguarding concerns
- We agree what you'd like in the progress summary
- 3
Select your pupils
Choose the pupils who will benefit most. Many UK schools prioritise Pupil Premium pupils; Nigerian schools often focus on exam classes.
- Share each pupil's subject, level and any needs, privately
- We match every pupil with a checked tutor
- Each pupil gets their own login, and the same tutor each week
- 4
Check the tech
Lessons run in the browser, so there's nothing to install. We'll help your IT team test it before the first lesson.
- A laptop or tablet with a camera and microphone, plus headphones
- A quiet space if pupils join from school
- Chrome, Edge, Safari or Firefox, and access to afritutor.co.uk
During the programme
We keep you in the loop
Tutors write a short note after every lesson. At the end of the programme you get a progress summary for each pupil, ready for your reporting.
- Attendance and lesson notes for every pupil
- A named contact who checks in with you regularly
- Lesson recordings kept for 90 days, for safeguarding
- A progress summary at the end of each programme
